They concoct the perfect plan, but to make it work, they’ll need help from Angela’s mother. There’s just one tiny little problem–Fran’s dead. As the duo works to catch the cheater, Angela struggles to decipher messages she assumes are from her mother, messages that intensify in their urgency. Only the messages aren’t from Fran. Angela finally figures out the messages and knows if she delivers them, she’ll regain her gift, and her secret will go viral. Turner: World Change

Born on Earth of human parents, because of an ancient magical spell, Juri Turner transforms into a dragon in order to help fight and defeat the Artesio, aliens who invaded and subjugated Earth two decades ago. She does this by opening a door to another dimension and getting help from the magical dragons and humans who originally cast the spell. It was their way of repaying the humans of Earth for having helped them in the past.
Then Juri learns that in addition to saving Earth she was also born to save Mur from total annihilation.
However, as she learns, being born to accomplish a task doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be easy. First, she will have to escape dying on the job, and if she does then she has to contend with being forced into marriage…
How will she handle being betrothed to a dragon?
Pray for Mur, pray for Earth, but especially pray for Juri, for without her, both worlds are doomed.

Turner: Unexpected Change

Juri Turner, the human-born dragon, has ensured that Mur, the magical world next door to Earth, will never again be endangered by its unstable core. She has also managed to avoid an unwanted marriage to an utter creep of a dragon.
Now, she finds that she has to help defeat a demon who intends to rule Mur, and Earth’s aliens invaders, hell-bent on destruction, are coming back for a rematch.
Again, the fate of two worlds rests on the small golden shoulders of the human-born dragon who never asked for anything more than to be left alone to live out her less than fortunate life in peace. How will she handle the unexpected changes these events bring about?

Turner: Bitter Change (Book 1)

Change happens. It’s a fact of life. But what if the change is so drastic it irrevocably alters your entire society, your whole world?
Fifteen year old Juri Turner lives in such a world. She knows nothing of the previous way of life, only what she reads in old books and magazines or overhears from roaming new nomads, because she was born five years after the Artesio came from somewhere in the galaxy and rolled right over anything Earth had to offer as a defense. She lives in a deteriorating society ruled by a puppet government set up by uncaring aliens who have their own unknown agenda. However, she has problems of a more personal nature.
Starting at the age of three, she began experiencing a transformation, changes of which the most notable are scales growing all over her body, and, for no discernable reason, her parents formed an intense dislike of her. As she later discovers, so does anyone else with whom she comes in contact. She is bewildered – and bereft – but over the years, after a fashion, she has managed to find ways of coping.
One of her ways of coping includes stealing, and she now finds herself in solitary confinement at a government institution for the rehabilitation of wayward youth where she suddenly begins undergoing even more changes. They’re drastic and are accelerating, and there is no way she can keep them hidden.
What happens when her new alterations are discovered and she’s sent to a different location? Does the witch she meets there have answers to what she’s becoming?
Follow along with Juri as she struggles to learn what she is and to understand why she has been subjected to such a bitter change.
This is a story of change, and of hate, love, and betrayal; of a coming of age, and of spaceships and magic…

Trouble With Tycho

Prospecting on the Moon was grim, dangerous and usually unrewarding. Only most of the green-horns who came to try didn’t find out until after they got there.
Chris Jackson was no exception. He put everything he owned and could borrow into this, and he’d be ruined if he failed. His only chance meant going into Tycho – where three expeditions had already disappeared. He could try, but would he come out again?

Triumph

In the tradition of Fatherland and SS-GB, Hugo Award-winning author Ben Bova unveils a fascinating tale of an alternate history – in which one bold, top secret plan changes forever the shape of the world. 1945: As the War in Europe winds to its bloody close, and a crazed Adolf Hitler awaits the end in an underground bunker in Berlin, the Allied forces – led by FDR, Churchill, and Stalin – look warily at the post-war world – and at each other. Once the war is over, who will control Berlin, as well as the future of Eastern Europe? In the world we know, the Red Army marched on Berlin and the Cold War began. In Triumph, however, Bova imagines another possible twist of fate, whose consequences result in both a new world order and gripping human drama that will keep you turning pages until the powerful conclusion. Convinced that Stalin poses a threat to democracy as great as Hitler, Churchill launches a risky, covert operation involving a ceremonial sword, future cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, and a small dose of lethal plutonium. Mixing startling fictional surprises with genuine historical figures such as General George S. Patton and British spy Kim Philby, Triumph is an irresistible and compelling peek at a world that might been.

Trial by Fire

Sequel to national bestseller, Nebula Award finalist, and Compton Crook Award winner Fire with Fire. Science fiction adventure on a grand scale. When reluctant interstellar diplomat and intelligence operative Caine Riordan returns from humanitys first encounter with alien races, sudden war clouds burst. With Earths fleet shattered by a sneak attack and its survivors fighting for their lives, Caine must rely upon both his first contact and weaponry skills to contend with the non-humanoid enemy. And when the technologically-superior attackers sweep aside the solar systems last defenses, and traitorous corporations invite the invaders to land security forces, humanity fights back with its best weapons: cunning, inventiveness, and guts. But as Earth hurtles towards a final trial by fire that is certain to scar its collective memory, Caine discovers that there may also be large and disturbing gaps in that memory. Clues point to a much earlier inter-species apocalypse, buried in humanitys own prehistory. Which raises a terrifying possibility: what if the aliens’ invasion of Earth is not one of conquest, but preemption? And what if their harrowing memories of a long-past cataclysmic war makes them willing to do anything to keep it from reigniting?Even if that means exterminating the human race.At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management).About Compton Crook award winner for best first novel, Fire with Fire:_Chuck Gannon is one of those marvelous finds¾someone as comfortable with characters as he is with technology, and equally adept at providing those characters with problems to solve. Traditional Building Materials

Steel and glass now dominate modern British cities, but the country can still boast millions of older houses constructed of more traditional building materials. Many date from the period before easy nationwide transportation, when these materials were usually grown on or extracted from land in the locality. As a result, Britain has a varied legacy of vernacular buildings that echoes its multitude of different landscapes. They display a rich and colourful palette of materials from the honey-coloured stone of the Cotswolds, to the red earth of Devon and grey granite of Aberdeen. In this book, buildings historian Matthew Slocombe explores the way in which locally produced constructional resources have shaped Britain’s architectural heritage, whether workers’ cottages or country houses. He looks at the range of materials used for walls and roof coverings, and explores the processes needed for their extraction, production and manufacture. He also considers the wealth of craft skills required for their use, including masonry, carpentry, roofing, leadwork and much more.

Trader’s World

A Trader had no home – yet was at home everywhere.
From the Chill settlements to Cap City, from the Strine Interior to the Darklands and out to the space colonies, the Traders were always on the move.
They did the deals, turned contacts into contracts. They collected information, exchanged technologies, undertook espionage…
Always outsiders, welcomed warily at best, at risk always, they and their systems were everywhere but belonged nowhere.
To be a Trader was to live by your wits, survive through training and experience and to relax only with other Traders.
Mikal Asparian was about to enter the world of the Traders.
