Secrets of the Tulip Sisters

**From the #1 *New York Times* bestselling author comes the charming tale about the problem with secrets, the power of love and the unbreakable bond between sisters.**
Kelly Murphy’s life as a tulip farmer is pretty routine—up at dawn, off to work, lather, rinse, repeat. But everything changes one sun-washed summer with two dramatic homecomings: Griffith Burnett—Tulpen Crossing’s prodigal son, who’s set his sights on Kelly—and Olivia, her beautiful, wayward and, as far as Kelly is concerned, unwelcome sister. Tempted by Griffith, annoyed by Olivia, Kelly is overwhelmed by the secrets that were so easy to keep when she was alone.
But Olivia’s return isn’t as triumphant as she pretends. Her job has no future, and ever since her dad sent her away from the bad boy she loved, she has felt cut off from her past. She’s determined to reclaim her man and her place in the family…whether her sister likes it or not. For ten years, she and Kelly have been strangers. Olivia will get by without her approval now.
While Kelly and Olivia butt heads, their secrets tumble out in a big hot mess, revealing some truths that will change everything they thought they knew. Can they forgive each other—and themselves—and redefine what it means to be sisters?

The Secrets of Axum

World War II started two months ago. And then fizzled out like a wet fuse, at least in Europe. An otherworldly army has invaded Earth. The Axis and the Allies must work together if they are to stop it.
Ernst Haufmann, Director of Ahnenerbe, the German Reich’s research into the occult thinks he knows a way to stop the invasion forces so Germany can once again look to its own plans for world domination.
The powers behind the invasion from Aerth believe so as well. They’ll do anything to find the ancient artifact Ernst seeks before Ernst does. And if they can’t have it, they’ll be just as happy to destroy it.
Individuals can make a difference in war as well. A small team of British infantry are on the other side of the gate in Aerth. They might have something to say to the inhabitants of that world about the invasion of ours.
Authors note: This is a serial series. To understand the story, it is best to start with book 1, The Dragons of Dunkirk.

**Recensie(s)**

Redactie

The Secret Sharer and Other Stories

Joseph Conrad (1857–1924) spent much of his life at sea, and his experiences as a mariner deeply influenced his fiction. He set many of his finest stories aboard ship, where his characters — closely confined, enduring the rigors of the sea — might struggle more intensely with the psychological and moral issues that engaged him. This volume contains three of Conrad’s most powerful stories in this genre: ”Youth: A Narrative” (1898), ”Typhoon” (1902) and ”The Secret Sharer” (1910).
In each of these exciting tales, Conrad’s celebrated prose style, rich in the cadences of the sea, draws readers into a story that probes deeply, often suspensefully, into the mysteries of human character. Here are adventures of the sea and of the soul, related by a novelist considered one of the greatest writers in the language, reprinted from authoritative editions.

Secret Journey to Planet Serpo

On July 16, 1965, a massive alien spacecraft from the Zeta Reticuli star system landed at the Nevada test site north of Las Vegas. Following a plan set in motion by President Kennedy in 1962, the alien visitors known as the Ebens welcomed 12 astronaut-trained military personnel aboard their craft for the 10-month journey to their home planet, Serpo, 39 light-years away. In November 2005, former and current members of the Defense Intelligence Agency–directed by Kennedy to organize the Serpo exchange program–came forward to reveal the operation, including details from the 3,000-page debriefing of the 7 members of the Serpo team who returned after 13 years on the planet. Working with the DIA originators of the Serpo project and the diary kept by the expedition’s commanding officer, Len Kasten chronicles the complete journey of these cosmic pioneers, including their remarkable stories of life on an alien planet, superluminal space travel, and advanced knowledge of alien technologies. He reveals how the Ebens presented the U.S. with The Yellow Book –a complete history of the universe recorded holographically, allowing the reader to view actual scenes from pre-history to the present. He explains how the Ebens helped us reverse-engineer their antigravity spacecraft and develop technology to solve our planet-wide energy problems–knowledge still classified. Exposing the truth of human-alien interaction and interplanetary travel, Kasten reveals not only that the Ebens have returned to Earth eight times but also that our government continues to have an ongoing relationship with them–a relationship with the potential to advance the human race into the future.

Secret Journey to Planet Serpo was a mind-blower’ for me. A well-written, easy read, with numerous b&w illustrations and 27 colour plates, I think it will test your powers for discerning its credibility and make you begin to wonder what else of monumental importance is being withheld from the citizens of earth. * Alan Glassman, New Dawn, November 2013 * Len Kasten’s work is abundant ad infinitum with similar and truthful mind bending revelations known only to insiders; this is a monumental accomplishment. No Ufology’s library is complete without Secret Journey to Planet Serpo. The book is a masterpiece!! Rating: 5 Stars all the way. * Art, UFOs, and Supernatural Magazine, August 2013 * I cannot overemphasize the importance of this book. Kasten has cast the bright light of scholarship on a subject that cries for understanding and will change our world and everything that we have come to believe about ourselves and our place in the universe. The shocking truth is, we are not alone and have never been alone. * Robert O. Dean, Command Sgt. Major, U.S. Army, retired *

The Secret Agent

*The Secret Agent* is Joseph Conrad’s dark satire on English society, edited with an introduction and notes by Michael Newton in Penguin Classics.
In the only novel Conrad set in London, *The Secret Agent* communicates a profoundly ironic view of human affairs. The story is woven around an attack on the Greenwich Observatory in 1894 masterminded by Verloc, a Russian spy working for the police, and ostensibly a member of an anarchist group in Soho. His masters instruct him to discredit the anarchists in a humiliating fashion, and when his evil plan goes horribly awry, Verloc must deal with the repercussions of his actions. While rooted in the Edwardian period, Conrad’s tale remains strikingly contemporary, with its depiction of Londoners gripped by fear of the terrorists living in their midst.
This edition of *The Secret Agent* contains a chronology, further reading, notes and maps of London and Greenwich. In his introduction, Michael Newton discusses London’s real-life world of political anarchy, and Conrad’s portrayal of the Verlocs’ marriage.
Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) was born in the Ukraine and grew up under Tsarist autocracy. After spending years in the French, and later the British Merchant Navy, Conrad left the sea to devote himself to writing. In 1896 he settled in Kent, where he produced within fifteen years such modern classics as *Youth*, *Heart of Darkness*, *Lord* *Jim*, *Typhoon*, *Nostromo*, *The Secret Agent* and *Under Western Eyes*.
If you enjoyed *The Secret Agent*, you might like Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s *Demons*, also available in Penguin Classics.
‘A brilliant book, one of the greatest works of modern irony’
Malcolm Bradbury

The Secret Agent – a Simple Tale

This is Joseph Conrad’s 1907 novel, “The Secret Agent: A Simple Tale”. Set in London in 1886, it concerns Mr. Adolf Verloc, a spy who works for an unknown country. The novel is significant as it was one of Conrad’s later political novels, representing a divergence from his earlier stories of seafaring. “The Secret Agent” deals with ideas of anarchism, terrorism, espionage, and exploitation. Modern Library ranked it the 46th most significant novel of the 20th century and, due to its themes, was one of the most referenced novels in American media subsequent to the 9/11 attacks. Joseph Conrad (1857 – 1924) was a Polish-British writer considered to be amongst the greatest novelists in the English language. Other notable works by this author include: “Heart of Darkness” (1899), “Nostromo” (1904), and “Under Western Eyes” (1911). Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this book now in an affordable, high-quality, modern edition complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
