To the rescue come Captain Vimes, Constable Carrot, and the rest of the Night Watch who, along with other brave citizens, risk everything, including a good roasting, to dethrone the flying monarch and restore order to Ankh-Morpork (before it’s burned to a crisp). A rare tale, well done as only Terry Pratchett can.

Growing Beautiful Food

With the paradigm shift toward local and homegrown food, gardeners and foodies have come to relish beautiful vegetable gardens and beautiful meals. Author Matthew Benson writes that beauty inspires behavior, and he believes that we *can* and *will* eat better, be healthier, and live more sustainably when we grow food that’s visually enticing.
Benson restored a time-worn gentleman’s farm and operates a CSA on one small acre of the land, offering vegetables, orchard fruit, cut flowers, herbs, eggs, and honey from the property. His garden-to-table operation offers an edible feast of textures, colors, and aromas and has grown into a way to feed others, while pushing back against the industrial food system in a small but meaningful way.
*Growing Beautiful Food* is both inspiration and instruction, with detailed growing advice for 50 remarkable crops, a memorable narrative, and evocative imagery. It’s a photographic journey through four seasons in the garden, fueling the dream that you can connect to the land by growing your own food. Benson encourages us to start small like he did, celebrate every harvest, and understand that heartbreaking crop losses are simply part of the process. Whether gardeners, families, farmers, or chefs, readers will come to the table motivated by the flavor of homegrown, the message of self sufficiency, and the beautiful food that’s as local as their backyards.

Grim Tempest

Life should be good for Aisling Grimlock. She’s engaged to a great guy, she’s getting the hang of being a reaper, and her rich father spoils her rotten on a regular basis. All that changes when a series of storms hit and the Michigan populace starts turning downright dangerous.
The streets are running with blood as people turn on one another for no good reason and the hospital is filling up with the sick and injured. That’s on top of the ones who are dying in terrible fashion … and leaving nothing but angst in their wake.
Right from the beginning, Aisling is convinced the storms are magical in origin. Of course, because she’s prone to theatrical fits, no one believes her … until the storms hit a little too close to home and Aisling herself is in danger from the one person she trusts above all others.
As a cop, Griffin Davenport is used to putting his life on the line. What he’s not comfortable with is being a threat to the people he’s supposed to be helping. The storms, you see, don’t affect reapers but those they love are in a heap of danger.
Aisling is determined to find the source of the storms, even if it leads to someone in her own family. She’s willing to claw, scratch and fight until the danger is eliminated. She’s also willing to whine, cajole and beg if it means she gets her way.
A big fight is coming, and it will be under a cloudy sky. Will the Grimlocks live to reap another day or have they finally found an enemy that’s big enough to take them out?

Grim Rising

Aisling Grimlock should be happy.
She’s living with and engaged to the man of her dreams, her mother isn’t eating people … at least out in the open, her best friend is distracted by wedding details … mostly, and there are zombies running around Detroit.
Yeah, it’s that last one that’s driving her crazy … especially because no one in her family believes her when she spouts the tall tale.
Aisling Grimlock is a reaper in trouble. She’s got big decisions in front of her and nonstop trouble chasing behind. The dead appear to be rising … and they’ve got their eyes (and teeth, for that matter) trained on Aisling and her family.
Even though the rest of the family thinks she’s exaggerating – or even lying because she’s looking for attention – they’re determined to help before Aisling goes over the edge. It seems there might be a little something going on, and Aisling might have been right all along.
You know what that means, right? Yes, she’s doing her “I’m right” dance … and then ducking for cover.
It’s going to take every Grimlock to fight this enemy, and even then, Aisling will be isolated in the end. The question is: Can she win the day or is she destined to join the creatures stalking her?

Grim Like Me

Cormack Grimlock thought he was in for a day of meetings, and then his wife sprung something new on him: Take Your Daughter to Work Day. And, because he’s a Grimlock and his daughter is spoiled, that means taking Aisling and her best friend Jerry to work with him.
Though he’s not generally in the field, a work illness forces Cormack out on a case … and he must take Aisling and Jerry with him. Of course, since Cormack is a reaper, that means he’s visiting the dead. Unfortunately he has to take his young charges along for the ride.
What should have been an easy collection turns into something more for Cormack when his soul runs away and he’s left to solve the murder of an unlikable man with nothing but two eight-year-olds to help him. He also has to do it without his wife finding out what he’s up to because he has no intention of getting in trouble himself.
It’s one long day for the terrible trio, and it’s going to take everyone working together to ensure things turn out exactly how they should.
Note: This is a 28,000-word short set in the Aisling Grimlock world.

Grim & the City

Life is never dull in the Grimlock world and that’s never been more apparent than now, thanks to one household becoming two and four hearts becoming rambunctious.
For Aidan Grimlock, he thought moving in with his boyfriend Jerry would be easy and the extra space would serve as a buffer from Jerry’s rather large personality. All of that changes when Jerry insists they visit the local home expo, thus undertaking a humongous decorating project.
Aidan isn’t in the mood, which leads to a fight, which leads to Jerry storming out, which ultimately leads to him giving in when his sister calls to report her soul has gone AWOL at – you guessed it – the home expo.
Aidan has to help his sister with her soul-sucking duties, deal with his boyfriend, grapple with rogue reapers and pretend he’s totally okay with Jerry’s decorating choices.
It’s all in a normal day’s work for this easygoing reaper … until absolutely everything blows up in his face.
What else is new, though, right?
Note: This is a 28,000-word short set in the Aisling Grimlock world and told from the point-of-view of her brother. It is set in the past, although only a few months, and can be read at any time.

Greyson – Part 2

*** This is part 2 of 4. In addition, Greyson — The COMPLETE Serial (parts 1-4) is now available in a convenient box set ***
From NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Cali MacKay…
From the moment Greyson sets eyes on Juno, he knows her for what she is—his fated mate. There can be no other for him, which poses its own set of problems when he finds her standing over the dead body of a bear shifter from a rival clan. With the dead man’s family seeking revenge, the only way to keep her safe is for them to get married, making her a protected member of his wolf pack—but that’s going to take a whole lot of convincing, especially when Juno looks panicked and ready to bolt.
Juno has a massive problem and accidentally killing a man in self-defense is just the start of it. She’s still rattled after finding out about a world she never knew existed, especially when she’s hiding a huge secret of her own. Though Greyson is sexy and sweet, and she could really fall for him, sticking around just isn’t an option, since she’d only be putting him in danger. And marrying him? That’s definitely not a solution to her messed up life.
With Juno’s life on the line, can Greyson convince her to take a chance on him, knowing he’ll not only keep her safe but make her happy or will she risk it all to keep him from the curse she has no control over?
